Edible Gardens Bridport In 2014 St Mary’s School in Bridport launched its edible garden, and since then children at the school have learnt about organic gardening of food plants, and how to prepare them. There are two polytunnels and outdoor vegetable beds and soft fruits, a foraging hedge and an orchard. The emphasis is on regenerative gardening through a no-dig approach, where the children learn about the magic of soil and the pleasure of cooking.. Dorset Greener Homes Dorset CAN coordinates the Greener Open Homes events across Dorset to showcase ideas for greener living. For two weekends annually there’s an opportunity to visit homes – plus gardens, allotments, churches, schools, village halls – venues where steps have been taken to save energy and avoid using fossil fuels as well as to promote biodiversity. The focus is on low cost solutions to cut energy use, reduce waste and save money, as well as looking after nature in your garden.
